About me
Hey there, I’m Vikrant! 👋🏽
I’m a bioengineering PhD candidate at UC San Diego working with Dr. Gert Cauwenberghs and co-mentored by Dr. Terrence Sejnowski. As a PhD student I’m interested in using architectural and learning strategies in brain microcircuits and translating them to co-designing hardware and algorithms for resource-efficient large scale compute and AI. In my broader research, I want to develop next-generation of efficient computing technologies, algorithms and benchmarking technoques for sustainable compute. I’m also interested in studying student perceptions of university-level STEM instruction and to that extent formulating more equitable curricula. Outside work I can be found hiking the beautiful hills and trails of San Diego, learning new recipes and occasionally playing guitar! 🏞️🎸
